GOLFING dynamo Glenn Niciejewski has again blitzed his competition to come out as New South Wales Open B1 Champion.

In the second lowest game he has played, Niciejewski was already nine shots in front on the first day of the two-day competition, held at Five Dock, Sydney.

“On the second day I just totally killed them by about 40-45 shots,” he said.Golfer Glen Wins Another Title

“I hit 127 on the first day off the stick and then 104.

“It was perfect day down there – we played in the sunshine and the rain as well.”

Usually assisted by caddy Scott Downing, this time Niciejewski, who is blind, was aided by his wife Jodie.

“I played heaps better with Jodie, maybe she puts the pressure on me,” he said.

The NSW Open accolade will join B1 Champion trophies from the Victoria Open Stableford Championships and the Australian Open Stableford Championships, all gained this year.

But despite his success, Niciejewski’s goal to gain an overall win across all the blind and visually impaired categories has eluded him thus far.

Across all the categories, Niciejewski finished ninth at the NSW Open event.

“Ninth is not the highest I’ve finished overall – in Adelaide in May this year I finished sixth,” he said.

“I want just to win a tournament outright, be the champion by myself.

“I’m playing against some sighted players and they can obviously see more than I can, I just have to play low golf. Like I always say – go low or go home.”

The NSW win moves Niciejewski to fifth on the order of merit in line to play in the Worlds competition in 2014, of which he needs to be in the top eight to qualify.

He will next compete in Perth in the West Australian Open and the Australian Open at the end of the month.
